How the Date Difference Is Calculated
Under the hood the tool uses a simple rule: subtract the earlier date from the later date to get the number of elapsed days, then convert that into bigger units.
Total days = End date − Start date
Weeks = Total days ÷ 7 (remainder = leftover days)
Months = counted by calendar months, then remaining daysWhy months are trickier than days: calendar months are different lengths (28–31 days), so the tool walks forward month by month rather than dividing by a fixed number.
